About

Bootleg Archive was founded on November 16, 2001 as a Direct Connect Hub for trading SHNs (lossless Shorten compressed format). The Bootleg Archive web site started as a list for xfernal's bootleg collection, and quickly became a resource for other members as a reference and research tool for their own bootleg collections.

Now, Bootleg Archive is an online music community dedicated to storing information about live audio music. Bootleg Archive provides a web interface for users to organize their bootleg collections, as well as find other members to negotiate trades, and tracking which recordings are in circulation. Unlike other sites, Bootleg Archive provides not only information, but also checksum verification and graphics files associated with each bootleg.

xfernal still maintains BootlegArchive.org, along with a team of volunteers that help maintain the data and, along with our members, continue to add bootlegs that are in circulation.
